Coach Education Announcement

WaiBOP Football Federation, in conjunction with New Zealand Football, are delighted to announce first Community Coach opportunities for the 2018 season.

NZF Senior Level 1

Course Overview:
The first step for coaches of adult players provides information on how to organise enjoyable sessions working on specific areas of team development.

Looking at areas such as "Warm Ups", "What to do on Game Day" and "Benefits of Small Sided Games", it is an informative starting point for coaches looking for guidance on the best way to coach adults.

This course will help Coaches working with players aged 16+ years, involved in all 11v11 Football formats.

Course Content Includes:

  • Structure of a coaching session
  • Meeting adult footballers' needs
  • Warm Ups and Cool Downs
  • Coaching Styles
  • Designing coaching sessions for technical outcome


Venue: Otumoetai FC, Fergusson Park, Tauranga

NZF Junior Level 2

Course Overview:
This is a new course which has been carefully designed to provide coaches working with grassroots/talented players aged 7-12 years relevant knowledge and skills to help work more effectively. Course content focuses on developing an understanding around the individual nature of techniques and skill and how to use conditions to develop each through guided discovery. This course replaces the former Junior Level 2 modules and introduces concepts that are expanded on the Junior Level 3.

Course Content Includes:

  • Skill Acquisition Training components
  • Categorising the difference between Skill v Technique
  • Incorporating the 11+ Kids into training sessions
  • Break down of the CORE SKILLS
