I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ricki Herbert to the role of Football Development Manager at the club.
The Football Development Manager will have two specific focuses, the first being the continuation of implementing our Junior and Youth player development programme which will also include our Federation age group teams. The second focus is on coach development which will see Ricki working with the club’s coaches across all levels providing coach education programmes and assisting coaches with their licenses.
Ricki is currently working as a Technical Director at Cambridge Football Club and is happy to now have the chance to be working even closer with our club and is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, he said “there is such a great deal of potential within Hamilton Wanderers and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being at the club the last two National League seasons. The opportunity to help develop the pathway and football curriculum for the club’s junior and youth players as well as working closer with the club’s coaches through their coaching license process is something I am very excited about and I just can’t wait to get into the work ahead”.
As Club Chairman, I’m so pleased that we have secured Ricki in this role and I know that the future for these two areas of the club is bright and it will be great to see the developments in our Junior and Youth player programme as well as in our Coaching areas. To have someone with his experience and footballing history more regularly involved in our club is exciting.
Ricki will commence his role in February 2019 for an initial period of 2 years. I’m sure that you will all join me in congratulating Ricki and wishing him all the best in his new role.
